ZAP Wanderlust: Spring Travel Tips

When April rolls around and 6 out of the 7 days of the week consist of torrential downpours and blistering winds, I start to crave a sunny getaway. Since summer is just around the corner my travel plans are finally underway. Whether it’s a quick weekend road trip or a week long getaway, one of my challenges is deciding what to pack for the vacation. I tend to be an over packer and end up not using or wearing half the things I brought, but who wants to wear an outfit twice?! Through some trial and error of packing, I have a few tips just in time for your next escape.

  • First and foremost, comfort is key! During long and uncomfortable flights, Birdies Slippers are a perfect go-to shoe to keep you super cozy and stylish when traveling for long periods of time. I also love pairing the slippers with a pair of joggers to reach that extra level of comfort!
  • If you’re heading somewhere cold, packing layers fills your suitcase immediately. An easy way to keep you from paying the extra bag fee, is to wear your heavy coat and thick sweater in flight.
  • Looking for anyway to make some room in your bag? Roll your clothes! Instead of folding them, it frees up space and it also helps keep your clothes wrinkle free. You can always get one of my favorite wrinkle products, Downy’s Wrinkle Releaser – I swear by it.
  • You can’t forget about the skin care essentials. First, SPF is a MUST even if you’re not laying out on the beach. Second, travel sized products are key to keep in your carry-on bag for convenience. You can’t go wrong with an in-flight face mask to give your skin a little refresher in a tight space. The new sheet masks from Advanced Clinicals are easy to apply, slim enough to slip in your bag and will immediately get you feeling rejuvenated. The Oars+Alps full kit is also the perfect combination of skin care products to keep the guys feeling fresh as well. Plus, they’re spill-proof and travel friendly.

I hope some of these tips help you get ready for your next getaway!
