ZAP BITES: Summer Slaw Recipe
It’s my favorite time of year, grilling season. While I’m not an avid griller, I am known to whip up mean side dishes for any cookout I attend. A friend gave me this recipe several years ago and it changed the way I make and eat coleslaw forever.
Spruced Up Broccoli Slaw
Ingredients:
(Don't forget to check out your local Fresh Thyme Farmer's Market for all the essentials!)
- 1 bag broccoli slaw
- 1 jar coleslaw dressing
- 1 cup dried cranberries
- 1 cup sunflower seeds
- ¾ cup gorgonzola cheese
- Salt & pepper to taste
Directions: Now for the challenging part… pour all dry ingredients into a large mixing bowl. Pour about half of the jar of dressing into the bowl and start to gently stir everything together. Continue to add as much dressing as you’d like, I typically use about ¾ of the jar. Once the contents are well mixed, salt and pepper to taste. Chill for about 30 min before serving.
