AROUND TOWN: St. Patrick's Day Festivities in Chicago
After a long, cold winter, the month of March restores the liveliness back to Chicago. A Chicago-favorite holiday, St. Patrick’s Day, is on the horizon and there are endless events around the city to honor it. Have you made your plans yet? Downtown Parade and River Dyeing // Nothing quite beats painting the town green on this holiday. Secure your spot for the best view of the dyeing of the Chicago River on Saturday, March 16 at 9 a.m. The annual parade will kick off at 12 p.m. at the corner of Columbus Drive and Balbo and will continue north to Monroe. If you can’t make it, no worries! Our friends at ABC7 will be capturing everything live!
Skydeck Chicago // This year, the iconic Chicago attraction known as Skydeck Chicago will have performances by both a bagpiper and the renowned Trinity Irish Dancers on Sunday, March 10 AND Saturday, March 16. Swing by after the parade for a one-of-a-kind day and the perfect family outing!
Fisk & Co. // Enjoy the ‘Shuck of the Irish’ celebration at one of Chicago’s best new restaurants! Food menu items include Homemade Corned Beef Hash, Corned Beef Sandwich and a Full Irish Breakfast, all for under $20! Shamrock Shuffle // Maybe you’ve done races before, but we guarantee you’ve never done one like this! Come dressed in your wackiest St. Patrick’s Day attire and participate in the two mile walk or five mile run as part of the Shamrock Shuffle. For participants 21 and over, an ice cold beer awaits you at the finish line!
