SO COLD, IT'S HOT
Though the temperature highs and lows change daily, one could argue that winter has officially arrived. While other nightlife venues yearn for the return of warmer months, Zapwater client Vertigo Sky Lounge, recently transformed the season with the re-launch of their Fire and Ice winter patio. This concept has become a winter favorite perched on top of the dana hotel and spa, increasing in popularity over the last three years.
Fire and Ice converts the 1,000 square foot penthouse patio and features a fully customized ice bar and signature menu of fire shots. Patrons regularly line up to sample favorites including the Flaming Dr. Pepper, Flaming Irishman, and Jaeger Fire bomb. The lounge avoids the standard bottle service cliché and allows guests to book a reservation beside the lounge’s custom igloo, no better way to warm up! The patio’s signature maroon robes, fur blankets, and crystallized fire pit add the final warmth needed when temperatures reach an arctic low.
This year the Vertigo team enlisted Zapwater to take the launch event to new heights. Zapwater rose to the challenge and the night culminated with a premier fashion presentation by iconic Chicago retailer Akira. AKIRA'S show featured FORD models outfitted in of-the-moment technicolor furs, gilded cocktail dresses, & moon boots. The local retailer also offered guests a sneak preview of spring's princess chic styles, surreal floral prints, & sporty nylons.
The toast of the season came complete with a one hour hosted Svedka bar, live ice sculpting, swank gift bags, and an exclusive gifting suite for top media and VIP’s. With 1500 RSVP’s, a line around the block, 26 media attendees, and coverage in outlets like CS, TCW, Nylon, Urban Daddy, and NBC Chicago, Vertigo’s Winter tradition shows no signs of stopping.
Guests at Vertigo Sky Lounge may now visit the Fire and Ice patio nightly until midnight throughout the duration of the season. Open until midnight. Michael Corrigan Publicist
